Westfield is a town located in Union County that is home to approximately 30,000 residents.

The area stretches over about 6.7 miles and has many distinct neighborhoods within it. There are two sides of the town, the North Side and the South Side, and the following neighborhoods reside within these area limits: Brightwood, Country Club Estates, the Gardens, Indian Forest, Kimball Avenue Historic District, Manor Park, Stonehenge, Stoneleigh Park, and Wychwood.

Public transportation has a strong presence in Westfield. New Jersey Transit offers a variety of bus routes to get commuting residents to various parts of New Jersey as well as Manhattan. Additionally, the Raritan Valley Line provides train service from Westfield right into Penn Station in NYC. Due to it’s efficiency and effectiveness, demand for train service has increased over the years and additional times have been added to the schedule, including a rush hour schedule, making it even easier for commuting residents to get to and from work easily.

 Westfield has a thriving downtown area, full of shops, restaurants, and recreational areas. There are over 200 retail establishments and 400 commercial enterprises in the town. The library, Westfield Memorial, serves as a cultural hub for the town, hosting multiple events each year, a recurring book club each Saturday, and a variety of classes for younger and older residents alike. Due to the success of Westfield’s downtown, the town has won the Great American Main Street Award and was declared the winner of the American in Bloom contest.

 In regards to education, Westfield offers a variety of choices and opportunities for its younger residents. There is a public school district in place from kindergarten through the twelfth grade as well as access to private, vocational, religious, and magnet schools. Franklin Elementary, Jefferson Elementary, McKinley Elementary, Tamaques Elementary, Washington Elementary, and Wilson Elementary serve students through the fifth grade while Roosevelt Intermediate and Thomas Alva Edison Intermediate serve students from the sixth grade through the eighth grade. Westfield High School serves as the main school for students from the ninth grade through the twelfth grade.
