Alpine is a borough located in Bergen County that is home to a population of approximately 2,000 residents. Recognized as a suburb of New York City, Alpine attracts plenty of commuters who wish to work in the city but do not want to live in a largely urban environment. New Jersey Monthly magazine ranked Alpine as the 15th best place to live in the state as of 2012.

In regards to education, the Alpine Public School is a community school district that serves approximately 150 students from between kindergarten and the eighth grade. High school aged residents attend Tenafly High School.

The New Jersey section of the Palisades Interstate Park runs through Alpine. Within this park is the Alpine Boat Basin, which serves as a public picnic area as well as a small marina for private boats. Residents and visitors alike have access to canoeing, kayaking, fishing, and hiking throughout the park.
